While touring the ruins of a lonely Scottish castle, Kira’s gift for “far-seeing” provided her with a chance meeting with the most remarkable man -- a genuine Highlander from the fourteenth century who wasted no time in taking a kiss from her. Kira is not sure how it happened, but she has never forgotten it, especially since her “Highlander” now visits her often in her highly erotic dreams.

Since that fateful day, Kira has longed to return to Castle Wrath in Scotland and hopefully meet Aidan MacDonald face-to-face again. After scouring history books, she believes he is the man from her dreams. However, after twelve years, she has all but given up hope of ever going back, until she is given an assignment at work to investigate time portals in Scotland, which, Kira finds out, do in fact exist. Once again it is at Castle Wrath’s ruins that Kira is able to step through time and straight into the arms of Aidan MacDonald. But life in the fourteenth century is not what Kira expected, and she is not sure if their love is strong enough to survive their numerous enemies as well as transcend time.

No doubt about it, HIGHLANDER IN HER DREAMS is a fun, sexy romp. The idea that Kira is able to live out her fantasies is immensely appealing as is the man of her dreams, Aidan MacDonald. He simply oozes strength and sex appeal and there’s no question he can sweep a woman off her feet. Yet, there is more to Kira and Aidan’s romance than just physical attraction. Their relationship has enough depth to convince readers of an emotional bond between the two. Added to that are twists in the plot, including dastardly archenemies and unpredictable paranormal activities, so that along with a romance that tugs at the heartstrings, there is also plenty of excitement and action to be had in HIGHLANDER IN HER DREAMS. After all, it is fourteenth century Scotland, a wild and turbulent time where might makes right. And here is where the author’s affection for Scotland and knowledge of history shine through. The care in which she crafts her setting is able to transport readers, giving them a true sense of another time and a very magical place.

With its engaging characters -- a “dreamy” Scottish Highlander and a very intrepid heroine -- and a pleasing blend of wit, passion, and the paranormal, HIGHLANDER IN HER DREAMS serves up a steamy romance that packs emotional punch. I highly recommend it.
