Suspense

Chicago, Illinois - Present Day

A murder victim found in a church is guaranteed to be a difficult case, but when Detective Raven Mackenzie and her partner, Tony, realize that the victim was an employee of the Dunhill Corporation, things get a lot stickier. Fiona Dunhill is someone you don’t want to cross, and she has no intention of letting Raven investigate anything having to do with her company. To ensure that, Fiona agrees to cooperate as long as Raven and Tony work with the head of the Dunhill security team, Christian Delacorte.

Christian has absolutely no respect for, or trust in, the police. His childhood came to an end at the age of ten when, according to what he’s been told, the police mistakenly raided his family home and killed his parents and younger sister. Fiona Dunhill took him out of state care and raised him, so when she asks for his help now, he puts aside his prejudice against the police and agrees. After meeting with the police however, Christian has more questions than answers. A message left with the victim seems to be directed at him, and when Fiona disappears, he wonders if it’s her past or his that is coming back to haunt them. Add in his surprising attraction to a police detective, and Christian has his hands full.

Raven’s instincts are telling her that Christian isn’t responsible for what’s happening but is somehow in the middle of it. As the trouble escalates, Raven will have to decide if she can trust her gut -- or is it her libido talking?

Jordan Dane’s second novel, NO ONE LEFT TO TELL, is just as suspenseful as her April debut, NO ONE HEARD HER SCREAM. As Raven, Tony, and Christian investigate, they find more questions than answers, with no one available to answer them. It doesn’t take long for Christian to realize that Fiona knows something, but she disappears, supposedly to protect him. He’s still haunted by his past and the deaths that seem to shadow him, yet after meeting Raven, he begins to hope for more in his future than darkness. Raven’s father was a cop who raised her after her mother’s death, until he was shot in the line of duty when Raven was seventeen. She’s a tough, capable officer as she proves several times in the book.

The suspense takes center stage, but there is a bit of romance in the tale. There are also a few loose ends that set up the next book, June's NO ONE LIVES FOREVER. With interesting characters and intrigue that will keep you on the edge of your seat, NO ONE LEFT TO TELL is a story you won’t want to miss.
