London, Morocco, Spain - Present Day

The Committee is a covert mercenary organization with Kensington, Central London as its home base. The head of this powerful organization is Isobel Lambert, who is not only lethal, but an ice queen. Little does anyone know that after all these years, Isobel’s nerves are beginning to shred, and she knows the time is fast approaching when she can no longer maintain her icy demeanor. Isobel’s past and present are on a collision course, and her life will never be the same. Josef Serafin, labeled as one of the most dangerous terrorists in the world, is now turning to The Committee for safe passage to London in exchange for vital information. Isobel takes the assignment, because there are no other available agents. Studying the intelligence reports, Isobel realizes that Serafin is Killian, the only man she has ever loved, but was forced to kill seventeen years ago. Is it possible?

Josef Serafin, aka Killian, is drained; he knows his time is up. For too many years he has been a specter in the night, moving furtively from one deadly assignment to the next. There is no laughter or light in his eyes. But once long ago, there was a young girl, and her name was Mary Isobel. Killian does not care if Isobel likes it or not, but they have unfinished business.

When Isobel and Killian meet in Morocco, Isobel is deeply flustered. Killian has a small child with him who totes an AK-47 and keeps saying he is going to kill Killian. Killian confronts Isobel over her true identity. It seems he has kept track of her all this time. The raw sexual chemistry that exploded between them years ago is still there, and the ice queen feels her icy demeanor turning red hot. But those thoughts must be put on the back burner, because their exit route from Morocco has been sabotaged. Who has betrayed them? What started as a simple extraction now becomes a fight for their survival. But can they survive each other?

Ann Stewart has worked her magic once again. She has spun a provocative thriller in ICE STORM. Both Isobel and Killian know they have darkness in their souls, they know there is no happily ever after, but somehow, they must find out if their destiny is with each other or not. The conflict between these two powerful characters is tense and searing, which makes the story a page-turner. The secondary characters are so much more than one might guess. Ms. Stewart has deftly brought back the characters from previous novels, sexy Bastian and Chloe from BLACK ICE and, from COLD AS ICE, the ever so mysterious Peter, and Genevieve. Even better, coming in April 2008 is BLUE ICE...I cannot wait.

This is an exciting read. Enjoy
