Christmas, Michigan ~ Present Day

Navy pilot Michael Kavanaugh arrives in Christmas to spend the Christmas holiday with his friend and fellow pilot, Nicky York, and his family. Michael finds himself instantly attracted to Nicky’s sister, Merry, who’s beautiful, sweet, and… pregnant. Michael certainly isn’t the homebody type, but being around Merry has him being drawn into a feeling of wanting something more with her. Maybe a harmless holiday fling is just what he needs.

Soon to become a single mother, Merry isn’t about to go into a relationship with a pilot whose first priority is his job. She made the decision to return home after her father’s heart attack to run the family Christmas tree business and doesn’t need the distraction of a certain handsome hunk. Like the rest of her family, Merry throws herself into preparing for the biggest holiday of the year. However, Michael is attentive and nice, and doesn’t care that she’s carrying another man’s baby. But is he daddy material?

Up until a few months ago, Merry lived in Chicago and was seemingly happy living with her then boyfriend, even if she sensed there was something missing. While being pregnant and single is not something one would relish, Merry is looking forward to the birth of her baby. Michael, on the other hand, is well aware he’s going to be shipped overseas and shouldn’t get involved with anyone right now. Their relationship slowly develops like a crescendo of emotion, until finally, saying goodbye will be hard to do for them. By the end of A TOWN CALLED CHRISTMAS, I was smiling at the sweetness of the love that evolved between Merry and Michael.

Not to be missed are minor characters, including all of Merry’s family: her parents, her brother and his family, and finally, sister Noelle, who is young and not ready to settle down. A little side romance is kindled between Merry’s friend and employee, Jackie, and the town’s famous local author. All of these characters, as well the Christmas imagery, make A TOWN CALLED CHRISTMAS a well rounded and entertaining read.

What would the holidays be without reading at least one Christmas themed book? A TOWN CALLED CHRISTMAS is definitely one I highly recommend you put on your shopping list.
