Texas and Glendovia ~ Present Day

Alandra Sanchez has made a career out of planning and running charity events. When a scandal involving her threatens to financially hurt the beneficiaries of her charities, an offer to come to the island of Glendovia to help in their fund raising efforts is tempting. Upon arrival, practically the first person she meets is Prince Stephan Nicolas Braedon of Glendovia, and she’s shocked to realize he’s the stranger she met in Texas who propositioned her to sleep with him one night after a charity function. Nicolas hasn’t given up on the idea of bedding Alandra. She refused him then and she’ll refuse him now.

Nicolas isn’t used to being turned down. Alandra is beautiful and will provide a nice holiday distraction. He goes to great lengths to woo her, turning on the charm and making excuses for them to be alone. When Nicolas finally wears Alandra down and takes her to bed, he realizes that she’s going to be hard to give up when her time to leave comes. Alas, he doesn’t have a choice about continuing the affair -- especially when he already has a fiancée waiting in the wings.

What happens when you mix a prince on a mission with a woman with a mission? You'll find out in CHRISTMAS IN HIS ROYAL BED. Nicolas sees Alandra’s refusal to sleep with him as a challenge. When he learns that she does charity planning, he uses her talent as a way to finally get what he wants. Nicolas at first comes across as arrogant and condescending, but as the story moves along, he becomes more likeable.

As CHRISTMAS IN HIS ROYAL BED opens, Alandra is battling the whispers and fallout of a scandalous former affair. A break from Texas is just what the doctor would order, but if she’d known Nicolas was the Prince of Glendovia, she wouldn’t have gone from the frying pan into the fire. An even bigger scandal may soon erupt if the press gets wind of a potential affair between Nicolas and Alandra.

As always, Heidi Betts delivers an intriguing tale that keeps you glued to the pages and wanting more of her characters. CHRISTMAS IN HIS ROYAL BED brings together a couple who appear at first glance to be riding the scandal waves, but quickly fall in love despite the obstacles surrounding them. Loosely related to Ms. Betts earlier books BEDDED THEN WED and BLACKMAILED INTO BED, this story can be read as a standalone. I’m hoping Ms. Betts continues the “bed” series, perhaps with the Glendovia royal family. What a royal treat that would be for readers.

With characters you’ll soon fall in love with and a romance to defy all odds, I highly recommend picking up CHRISTMAS IN HIS ROYAL BED today.
