Romantic Suspense

San Antonio, Texas - Present Day

Five months after her little sister, Danielle, disappeared, Detective Rebecca Montgomery's frustration is reaching its breaking point. There have been several abductions of young women with ties to San Antonio over the past few months, but because there were reports of Danielle using her credit card after her disappearance and a motel room was found covered in Danielle's blood, authorities aren't connecting her to the other abductions. The FBI believes that Danielle ran away and was later murdered, but the other girls most likely became victims in a human trafficking ring. Rebecca's persistence in trying to find out what's going on in the investigations hasn't earned her any friends, and now she's been pulled onto a cold case. A fire at a condemned theater reveals the bones of a young woman, and Rebecca's initial inquiries point her in the direction of Diego Galvan and his employer, Hunter Cavanaugh.

While Rebecca can definitely see Cavanaugh as involved with a human trafficking ring, Diego is another story. Running a background check on him reveals no history beyond a few years ago, and connections to a New York mob boss. But when she questions Cavanaugh, the FBI comes calling, ordering her off the case. Rebecca's instincts are telling her that this cold case is somehow connected to Danielle's disappearance, and the handsome and charming Diego is her way in. Diego may be her partner reluctantly, but he is more than willing to be her lover. As the passion runs hot between them, however, both Rebecca and Diego are walking closer to danger than they could ever have imagined.

NO ONE HEARD HER SCREAM is a gripping suspense novel. Rebecca is on the edge with her determination to find justice for Danielle. She's immediately attracted to Diego but, considering his employer, she knows that this is not a good idea. There is something about him, though, that convinces her that he is more than he seems. Diego is caught in an untenable situation, and Rebecca's entrance into his life shows him that there may be a way out. But, there will be obstacles in their path.

The story moves quickly and will keep you turning the pages to see what happens next. Both Rebecca and Diego have suffered a life-changing loss in their past that is affecting what is happening now, and Rebecca especially is struggling to separate her tragedy from the case they are investigating. Definitely a book to look for, check out NO ONE HEARD HER SCREAM.
