Romantic Suspense

Toronto and Barrie, Canada – Present Day

After testifying at her best friend’s murder trial five years ago, Valerie went into protective custody. She was given a new identity and relocated to Toronto, where she has made a new life for herself. It had been difficult to leave her family and friends, so when Detective Staff Sergeant Alex Naumov arrives to tell her that convicted murderer, Frank Logan, and his brother, Fraser, know where she is living, Valerie is dismayed. She tries to take precautions for her safety, and even wears a black wig when she leaves her house. Alex is assigned to arrange a new identity for Valerie and to find another safe house for her. The attraction is electrifying between them, and Valerie feels safe in his presence.

In the meantime, Fraser is waiting and watching the woman he calls Faithless. Valerie doesn’t realize that he is the real killer.

Not wanting to change her current identity, Valerie goes to work the following morning, leaving Alex behind. She has tried to befriend and help the homeless in Toronto. She doesn’t realize that her stalker is hiding among them, and that he wants to tantalize and terrify her before he moves in for the kill. When a bouquet of funeral lilies is delivered to her office, she finally accepts that she is in trouble. Her friend, Starr, had warned her after reading her Tarot cards that she is in danger and that she will meet her “knight.” Valerie phones Alex and decides she must find the killer if she ever wants to lead a normal life. Will Alex help her?

Alex and Valerie are appealing characters. Even though Valerie is fearful of losing her life, she is strong and determined. Will Alex’s life be on the line, as well as Valerie’s, for wanting to keep her safe? The attraction sizzles between them as Alex questions Valerie and looks into the old murder case of Valerie’s friend, hoping to discover some new clues. Well written with romantic and frightening tension as the murderer moves closer, KEEPING THE FAITH is a gripping tale and a sure-fire winner for readers of romantic suspense. It is an enjoyable and emotionally satisfying story.
