He's instantly drawn to Mary, knowing that getting involved with her could cloud his judgment. Although I felt the romance between Mary and Thom developed a bit too quickly, the two have a real chemistry that goes beyond that of someone in Mary's situation falling for her savior. The suspense is held up well throughout the book, and readers will be kept guessing as to the identity of Mary's terrorizer.
