Day
Avy Hunt is an Art Recovery agent and will do whatever it takes
to retrieve stolen art treasures from thieves. Though the job can
be dangerous, she’s been very successful. Her latest assignment
is recovering a sword that is reputed to be in the hands of Liam
James, a criminal who is noted for his successes. Well, Avy is sure
of herself and doesn’t expect to have a bit of trouble getting
the sword back. However, what is it they say about the best laid
plans?
Liam James is one step ahead of Avy. Even before she left Miami,
he was trailing her. Now all he has to do is wait for her to show
up at his home in England and give her a surprise of her own. Liam
finds Avy intriguing, as well as admirable, and when they come face
to face, his opinion doesn’t change. The sparks fly, a tug
of war ensues, and two people who should be adversaries just might
turn into allies. Well, only if they can get past the arguing…
Karen Kendall sets up an intricate tale of thievery committed and
foiled, and a couple who are definitely at odds with each other
in TAKE ME IF YOU CAN. Avy sort of fell into the art recovery business,
and her employer is a mysterious man only known as “Kelso.”
It is Kelso who assigns jobs to the agents. Avy isn’t afraid
to take on new assignments, but as she soon finds out, the latest,
involving Liam James and the sword, tasks her skills, which will
have readers chuckling at her frustration.
Even before Liam meets Avy, he feels an instant attraction to her.
She’s smart, successful and will go to any lengths to win
over her prey. Their back and forth banter is lively and funny,
and you know it will only be a matter of time before they’re
falling in bed. But can a relationship between a thief and his pursuer
have any future? And what is the real reason Liam James stole the
sword? The plot is so painstakingly laid out that, even as the layers
are revealed, the truth will likely surprise readers.
A secondary plot in TAKE ME IF YOU CAN involves another agent,
Gwen, who is assigned an unusual task of stealing a dog from a famous,
but obnoxious rock singer. The dog is just as ugly as its owner,
but Gwen is soon falling in love with the dog. Will Gwen and the
dog end up with their own happily ever after?
If you’re looking for a fun, entertaining read that will
keep you on the edge of your seat, then look no further than TAKE
ME IF YOU CAN. It will make you laugh, make you cry, and keep you
glued to the very end.
