A Small Town named
Halle - Present Day
Emma Carter has had a crush on Max Cannon since they
were kids; however, Max never appeared to notice. Ten years after
leaving town, Max, now known as Dr. Max Cannon, is back, and this
time around, he’s definitely taking notice of Emma. But
Emma’s not the shy little girl he left behind, and Max will
have to use all of his admittedly persuasive wiles to persuade
her to accept him. Luckily for Max, Emma’s a sucker for
kitties, especially big blonde kitties with killer abs and sex
appeal to spare.
Welcome to the small town of Halle, where humans
and werecats alike lay claim to the land and the people they love.
Max is the Alpha of the Puma Pride, and he’s certain Emma
is his Curana (mate of the Alpha). What he’s finding difficult
to accept is his own stupidity in not recognizing Emma as his
mate before he left town so long ago. All of those years they
could have been laughing, loving, and tussling when they disagreed.
Emma is strong in body and mind; she may not think men lust after
petite women with childbearing hips, but obviously she doesn’t
know what all men prefer, and it takes Max’s reentrance
into her life to reveal to the world just what she’s really
made of.
Emma’s friend and business partner, Becky Yaeger,
has also drawn the eye of a Halle Puma, Simon Holt (Max’s
Beta). Look for their story, SWEET DREAMS, to arrive in August
2008. Adrian Giordano is Max’s business partner, and he
takes on the unwelcome task of helping to keep Livia Patterson
(Max’s ex) away from him. She’s a lady (and I use
term “lady” lightly here) who doesn’t understand
the meaning of the word “no.” Fortunately for Adrian,
he has a story coming as well, CAT OF A DIFFERENT COLOR, in November
2008, so he may just get a happily-ever-after in recompense for
braving Livia’s bad attitude. Belinda Campbell is Livia’s
friend; she also appears to be cut from the same cloth, but time
will tell.
With great characters (you’ve got to love a
heroine who understands that a hot guy who wants to make you like
him and then ravish you, is not something to cry about, it’s
more like a give thanks to the Big Guy up above moment) and some
truly inspiring scenes (a hickey never seemed so sexy) as well
as some great laughs (I never knew a grapefruit spoon could be
used as a weapon, or that the threat of it would be so funny)
THE WALLFLOWER must be on your shopping list this month!
