Paranormal Romance

Present Day

There's only one thing Marty Andrews wants in this life, and that's a blue convertible. As a sales rep for Bobbie-Sue cosmetics, Marty is on her way to obtaining her goal when she is bitten by some mutt while walking her teacup poodle. Now some handsome guy named Keegan Flaherty has shown up and informs Marty it was no mere dog that bit her...it was a wolf. Her body is going to change, and Keegan's here to make sure the transition goes smoothly, and also to let her know she's not alone. Surely he has to be kidding, right? Because turning into a werewolf would really get in the way of the car she so desperately wants.

When Marty is kidnapped, she realizes that Keegan isn't joking about this werewolf stuff and she may have to start taking it seriously. Can Marty put her trust in a man who doesn't even know what a color wheel is?

True, there are some amusing scenes in THE ACCIDENTAL WEREWOLF which had me smirking, but the leading lady is what kept me from truly enjoying Dakota Cassidy's latest. Marty is just too superficial and self-absorbed, and while this usually changes throughout a story, it didn't in this one. She's the exact same person at the end of the book as she is in the opening scene, just with an added tail. I became increasingly annoyed at her inability to see what was going on around her, and while I'm sure the author meant that to be funny, it just didn't come off that way to me. Still, Ms. Cassidy has a knack for creating unique characters and situations, and there are secondary characters who really steal the show at times. I'm sure fans of this author, and paranormals that lean towards chick lit, will delight in THE ACCIDENTAL WEREWOLF.
