Paranormal Romance
Atlanta, Georgia – Present Day
Adopted at birth, Lizzie Brown never knew anything
about her birth parents. So when her birth grandmother gets in
touch with her, Lizzie is intrigued. She doesn’t expect
the tattooed woman on a pink Harley, and she certainly didn’t
plan to be shoved and locked into her bathroom. This was not how
Lizzie planned for that first meeting to go. But Murphy’s
Law continues to be in effect, and things go from bad to worse
when an ancient demon shows up on Lizzie’s toilet. When
did this kindergarten teacher’s life enter the twilight
zone?
Unbeknownst to her, it turns out that Lizzie Brown
is a demon slayer. Yes, you read that right…a demon slayer.
Even worse, all of hell is after her. Supposedly on her side are
her grandmother’s coven, a posse of Harley riding, roadkill
using septuagenarian witches who are downright scary. One somewhat
positive note is that Lizzie’s protector is the very hot
Dimitri Kallinikos. The fact that he’s not human is a little
concerning, but the hotness factor might just outweigh that. So,
let’s recap: overnight, a structured existence for a list-making
teacher has degenerated into a quest to save the world from the
demons intent on invading it. Hmm…I feel safe, don’t
you?
A fun romance, THE ACCIDENTAL DEMON SLAYER is an
entertaining ride. Lizzie Brown doesn’t know what hits her
when her grandmother literally blows into her life. Suddenly,
her normal existence is filled with scary demons, roadkill-infused
spells, and a talking dog. Lizzie is surprised to find that coming
into her powers as a demon slayer has given her the ability to
chat with her dog Pirate. She’s not sure if she will quite
categorize that as a gift or a curse, though. So, in between running
from demons, learning to use her powers, and trying to save the
world, Lizzie is also looking quite closely at Dimitri’s
as...er…sets. Added to her grief is the fact that everyone
around her has an agenda, even the dog, though his is quite obvious.
Talk about being thrown into the deep end when you barely know
how to tread water!
Hilarious situations ensue as Lizzie tries to figure
out how to navigate the treacherous waters of her new life. Though
the plot seems a bit rushed, what with Lizzie becoming a kick-ass
heroine practically overnight, the story is still highly entertaining.
As with most tales that involve pets or kids, Pirate is loads
of fun and almost steals the show in many scenes.
Join Lizzie Brown on a rollicking good ride as she
becomes THE ACCIDENTAL DEMON SLAYER.
