Paranormal Romance

Washington D.C. ~~ Present Day

What's a little shopping between friends? True, expert Finder, Cynna Weaver, is willing to try anything to take her mind off the scary situation she finds herself in. (Psssst...starts with a P and usually means a wardrobe change.) While she and fellow Magical Crimes Division agent Lily Yu are at the fashion center, all hell breaks loose when a couple of gnomes enter Earth's realm and want Cynna and Lily Yu to take them to Earth's leader. It seems that they need Cynna to find a special talisman, and they've got just the leverage they need to make her help them: her father. The man Cynna thought ran out on her long ago actually fell through the cracks -- literally -- and ended up in another realm.

With the help of lupine sorcerer Cullen Seabourne, who happens to be the very proud papa of Cynna's unborn child, Cynna may be able to pull this little adventure off. After all, she'd rather face the unknown danger of another world than think about her current condition.

Dragons and lupines and gnomes, oh my! And that's not even half of the mythical creatures that play a big part in Eileen Wilks's NIGHT SEASON. There was so much going on in this book, that I had to reacquaint myself with the previous titles just so I was able to keep up with this one. Cynna and Cullen have been my favorite characters since they were introduced, and I was happy to see them at the helm of their own book once again. They both share deep-seated loneliness that has somewhat been sated by their relationship with one another. And now that Cynna is pregnant, that bond will grow even more. Ms. Wilks did a great job of conveying all of Cynna's fears about her pregnancy without making her seem cold or callous. This is a woman who had a horrible childhood and doesn't know the first thing about children, let alone raising one. Whereas, on the other hand, Cullen couldn't be happier about the whole situation, which causes a few conflicts along the way.

Another wonderful edition to this magical series by Eileen Wilks, fans will not be disappointed with NIGHT SEASON.
