Paranormal Romance
Australia - Present Day
Nic Diavolo figures that by his age, he should no longer be afraid
of monsters or the dark. Yet, every night in his dreams, he is haunted
-- and hunted -- by strange creatures. The nightmares are just one of
the reasons why Nic hasn’t been with a woman in a while. Meeting
Shay Pearson has Nic reconsidering his celibacy vow, though. Shay doesn’t
recognize Nic for the wealthy man he is, and she is so gorgeous and
sweet that Nic is tempted to get to know her a lot better.
What he doesn’t know about Shay is that she hunts demons. A few
months ago, Shay joined the Realm of Light as a demon hunter, and now
she and her team are in Sydney to check Nic out. With the death of Ben
Diavolo a month earlier, the Sons of Darkness are missing one of their
demon Lords, and as his heir, Nic can take Ben’s place. But is
Nic even aware of his demon half? Derek, another demon hunter, and Ben’s
other son, didn’t know that he was half-demon until recently,
so maybe Nic doesn’t know either. It’s up to Shay to find
out.
From their first meeting, there is an intense connection between Shay
and Nic. But will that connection last once Nic learns the truth about
Shay...and himself?
There are plenty of scary things that go bump in the night, as Nic
is about to find out in HUNTING THE DEMON. He’s had dreams about
the creatures for years, but he has no idea what they are until Shay
and the demon hunters explain it to him. Of course, he doesn’t
believe it at first, nor does he believe Derek when he claims they are
brothers. As far as Nic knows, he’s an only child and his mother
died when he was young. The connection he feels with Shay is more than
attraction, but with so many changes and revelations in his life right
now, how can he trust in anything?
Shay and the other demon hunters were first introduced in SURVIVING
DEMON ISLAND, and HUNTING THE DEMON picks up pretty much where the first
book left off. The main characters from the earlier story, Derek and
Gina, play a large part in this one. Also of significance is the leader
of the demon hunters, Lou, and Ryder, another hunter, who has a major
part in a secondary plot thread. HUNTING THE DEMON is a bit slower paced
than the first book, but it is still an exciting story that should not
be missed.
