Paranormal Romance Howard County, Maryland, and Sun Acres - Present
Day
For seventy-five years, werewolf Caleb Marshall's ghost has haunted
the forest in Howard County, able to protect the animals in the
area by scaring off humans. Unfortunately, that’s all he’s
been able to do other than wait for the chance to avenge his own
death. Then he sees a woman enter a cave and not come back out.
Over the next few weeks, Caleb sees the woman several times, and
he begins to believe that there is a connection between them,
one that will enable him to speak with her.
Because of the constant warring in Sun Acres, a walled city-state
in a parallel universe, Quinn’s best friend, Zarah, is in
danger. Zarah’s husband is a powerful man with many enemies,
and to protect Zarah and her unborn child, they’ve decided
that she should stay in our world, with Rinna and Logan Marshall.
On a visit to make sure everything is ready for her friend’s
arrival, Quinn runs into a ghost in the forest. Meeting a ghost
isn’t unusual for Quinn, but being attracted to one is new.
Surely it’s just the loneliness of seeing her best friend
so in love and having no one for herself causing these feelings
in Quinn. If not, Quinn’s heart could be in trouble, for
what kind of relationship can a woman from one universe have with
a ghost in another?
Then, the unimaginable happens, and Quinn and Caleb may have
a chance. But there are still obstacles in their path: a plot
against the government that only they can stop, and Caleb’s
desire for vengeance against the descendants of his killer --
Quinn’s friends, the Marshall family.
Two lonely people who are familiar with the fantastical find something
truly magical in GHOST MOON. Quinn lived all her life in Sun Acres,
which is quite primitive compared to our society today. She spent
most of her life as a slave used for her psi abilities, but after
saving Zarah’s life, Quinn was granted her freedom. Caleb’s
duel with his cousin over a woman took a deadly turn, and the
werewolf has spent seventy-five lonely years, with only animals
for company, waiting for vengeance. When he first meets Quinn,
Caleb recognizes that, if he were still alive, she would be his
life-mate, and there is an immediate and incendiary connection
between them. The chance for a future between them comes with
a high price though; one Caleb’s not sure he can pay.
While GHOST MOON is, in some aspects, a stand-alone book, it
is definitely better to have read the previous stories in the
series first. There isn’t a story-arc that spans several
books; however, the connection to a parallel universe was first
introduced in SHADOW OF THE MOON, and Sun Acres and its inhabitants
were explored in depth in NEW MOON. All of the Marshall men make
an appearance in GHOST MOON, so readers who have followed the
series will have a chance to catch up with them. Even though I
highly recommend reading the series in order, GHOST MOON is still
a riveting tale that’s difficult to put down.
