Paranormal Romance

Seattle, Washington - Present Day

Life just isn’t settling down for the D’Artigo sisters. Half human, half Faerie, members of the OIA (Otherworld Intelligence Agency), the sisters are stationed Earthside and lately have had to deal with everything from demons to psycho vampires. The civil war in Otherworld is no longer just brewing; it’s a prime fighting ground. Meanwhile, portals are opening up all over the Northwestern part of the United States, allowing goblins, satyrs, trolls, bugbears and even a unicorn prince and his pixie assistant through.

As if all that didn’t make for enough mayhem, the third spirit seal (an ancient magical artifact that cannot be allowed into the wrong hands) seems about to be revealed. Then there’s Camille’s (oldest of the D’Artigo sisters and a witch) deal with Smoky (a dragon who can turn into a man) allowing him a week of whatever he desires; it’s coming due. Oh, there’s also a FBH (full blood human) who has a touch of the sight, a Râksasa demon, a djinn, and a dream chaser demon in the mix. Did I mention there’s also a sorceress bent on reestablishing the long gone Earthside courts of the Fae?

Suffice it to say that Camille, along with her lovers, Trillian and Morio, and her sisters, Delilah and Menolly, along with the rest of their allies, are going to have their hands full. Will they recover the third spirit seal; will Shadow Wing (ruler of the Sub Realms) attack Earth head on? Well, I’d tell you, but it would ruin all the fun you’ll have finding out for yourself.

DRAGON WYTCH is the second book in the series to focus on Camille, and it reveals much to readers, and to Camille, about who she really is and what she wants. Though there’s no doubt she wants -- and needs -- Trillian and Morio. Smoky, on the other hand, both frightens and intrigues her as well as inspiring her to heights of passion, but you know how dragons are, they play by their own rules, and now might not be the perfect time to be intimately involved with a being who will do what he thinks best, regardless of what Camille thinks. Strength has never been one of Camille’s problems -- her powers are potent -- it’s just too bad the darn things go haywire so often. (That darn half-human, half-Fae blood running amok.) But no worries, by the end of the book, Camille will definitely be a stronger person and a more competent witch. If she survives, of course.

Leading the pack of secondary characters are, of course, Delilah and Menolly. Each of the sisters is integral to the story as, quite frankly, none of the sisters would have survived this long without each other’s support. Chase, leader of the F-HCSI (Faerie-Human Crime Scene Investigations) and Delilah’s boyfriend, is as important as ever; he’s just a bit hindered by his annoying, and clueless, boss. Feddrah-Dahns is the unicorn I mentioned earlier. Crown prince of the Dahns unicorns, he has, or had, a very important gift for Camille. Mistletoe is his pixie assistant; no, don’t think badly of him just because of that troublesome reputation pixies have; he’s actually quite helpful. Of course there are many others who should be mentioned here as all of the Sisters of the Moon books are populated with an amazingly diverse cast of characters, but mentioning them all would take far too much room.

Though Yasmine Galenorn takes some pains to introduce her characters and what’s going on to new readers, enough so most won’t be lost, I highly encourage you to read the series in order. Stop by www.galenorn.com for a complete list of the books (both released and in the works). Besides, we’re only on book four and there’s at least five more coming; you don’t want to get too far behind. ;-) If you love paranormal romance, or even if you prefer urban fantasy, this is one book (and series) you do not want to miss! Fast paced, inventive, full of great storytelling and world building that’s sublime, DRAGON WYTCH needs to be at the top of your book buying list.
