Readers return to the wacky Bombay family, who just happen to be in the murder-for-hire business. A family of assassins for at least two thousand years, they pretty much run things the way they always have, with a few recent exceptions -- such as when they granted Gin Bombay (‘SCUSE ME WHILE I KILL THIS GUY) early retirement. Gin’s brother Dakota, Dak for short, enjoys his lifestyle. Good looks, a trust fund, one job a year, all the blondes he can date suit him just fine. At least until two very unusual things happen. First, one of those blondes leaves him a legacy in the form of Louis, his heretofore unknown six-year-old son. Second, a smart, mysterious red-head named Leonie changes his preference for blonde bimbos forever. Suddenly, Dak has more important things on his mind...his son, and a woman with whom he is falling in love.

Before Dak can start on this new stage of his life, he has a big commission to take care of for the family, to eliminate a rival company of assassins who have been underbidding the Bombay family and taking some of their business. Everything seems to be going just fine until Dak discovers the identity of the last assassin, someone he just can’t kill and walk away from -- Leonie. What is Dak going to do?

GUNS WILL KEEP US TOGETHER is the second in a series called Greatest Hits Romance. The characters and plot emphasize a funny, even wacky view of life and a guaranteed happily ever after. I guess the family that kills together, stays together.

Each chapter starts with a quote that hilariously highlights the action that takes place in the chapter. The characters are as outrageous as the situations, echoing James Bond, Pulp Fiction, and The Addams Family -- readers must suspend belief a bit. This is kind of a guilty pleasure read, purely for enjoyment.
