England and New York – Present Day

Fledgling spy Sophie Green is still getting her undercover feet wet. Yes, she’s managed to stumble over a few dead bodies in her brief time on the job, but she’s also managed to stop a few villains, save a few lives, and secure a hot boyfriend. Now, Sophie has the chance she’s been waiting for, an undercover assignment on her own. Even better, it’s in New York. Unfortunately, things go wrong almost immediately. The map said Bloomingdales was only a couple of blocks from her hotel. Easy enough to walk, right? A thousand blisters later, Sophie has a new dress, new shoes, and a new problem. Her friend and CIA agent Harvey Esquire has just walked into the bar where Sophie is waiting for her mark. Is he on the same assignment?

Hijinks ensue and then the piece de resistance…Sophie’s assignment suddenly requires her to go back to the equivalent of high school. The shock! The horror! Her school days were not the best days of her life, contrary to the commercials. So, the thought of returning inspires rather intense pain instead of pleasure. The good news, she has a gorgeous boyfriend this time around. The bad, more dead bodies start to pile up. Will Sophie make it out of school alive?

In A IS FOR APPLE, intrepid spy Sophie Green takes the next step in her career. Ok, so really she stumbles through that next step, but she’s finally growing up and figuring out what she wants. With the case going haywire around her, Sophie is also dealing with the direction her relationship with Luke is taking. What originally looked like a quick fling is slowly turning into something much more, and Sophie is unsure how she feels about it. Throw in some obnoxious teenagers, and Sophie’s hell is complete.

Dry British wit, comedic situations, and spots of danger combine together to create a wonderfully entertaining addition to the Sophie Green series. A IS FOR APPLE and, particularly, Sophie are a breath of fresh air that leaves readers panting for more.
