Cahn Dal is a member of an organization that sends agents through time to keep history -- and the future -- on track. Alexander Roen is also part of that group, but he does not always comply with regulations. Alexander lost members of his family when a mission went wrong, and he has stumbled onto information that all is not as right as officials would have the world believe. As if things are not already complicated enough, Alexander is in love with Cahn.

Wow! This adventure is very difficult to put in a summary, but an incredible pleasure to read. The title refers to the odds of succeeding in her goal whenever Cahn reaches a destination. Her Ball is her means of transportation and her keeper of sorts. Danger in many forms could end Cahn's and Alexander’s lives, and there are so many possibilities for failure that it boggles the mind. Villains hide behind respectability in the most unexpected places. There are also possibilities of meeting themselves in alternate realities.

Kim Knox is brilliant. There is no confusion in her storytelling as she moves her characters effortlessly through time and space. She captures each historical time period with accuracy and precision. Her views of the future are hopeful, and Ball is an ingenious device. One cannot help smiling at the repartee between Cahn and Alexander as they avoid being killed and put history back together. If you are ready for an excellently written, cleverly constructed fantasy, read and keep 7% AND RISING.
