Contemporary Romance

Santa Monica, California – Present Day

Although Jessica Anne Singer is a successful account executive for an advertising agency, she is more interested in writing her fantasy novel. She doesn’t like her boss, Simon, who is always hanging around her desk, and tired of writing ad copy, but she is very enthusiastic about taking a writing class on the internet. Professor Brant Wilson is a good looking man who fires her imagination when she is given the assignment of writing a short story about what she did on her summer vacation.

Brant is disillusioned about marriage after his wife walked out on him six years ago, but he enjoys teaching classes and thinking up new assignments for his students. Along with two evenings of classroom activities, students can chat with the professor and other classmates one evening a week. Jessica sometimes challenges Brant, and they get into some interesting discussions in the chat room. Even though he refuses to meet with any of his students, he misses Jessica when she doesn’t sign in to chat. She is getting a little annoyed when she keeps getting a “C” grade for her stories.

Jessica and her friend, Catherine, have helped each other through the good times and the bad times of their lives, always there for each other. Catherine talks Jessica into writing an erotic story to see if it will lure Brant out. Will he take the bait? Will Brant come out of hiding to meet Jessica?

Stories within a story, readers will read a few of Jessica’s short stories as she struggles with her writing. Simon won’t back off from Jessica, and she is determined to get together with Brant, but he refuses to meet her -- who will win? Brant and Jessica are lonely, haven’t dated for years, and they are attracted to each other, even if only on the computer monitor. Some surprises are in store for both of them, but they have a problem to work out, as well as interference from Simon. Always pushing Jessica to find Mr. Right, secondary character Catherine struggles to find her own Mr. Right.

THE WRITE MAN FOR HER is an interesting story with a bit of a twist. Realistic dialogue, intriguing characters, all come together to make a good contemporary romantic tale for your reading pleasure.
