Contemporary Romance

Various Locations in the United States - Present Day

Jolene Benate was devastated by her husband’s death after only one year of marriage. Paul had pursued her during a two-week courtship and overwhelmed her with passion. To find herself a widow at twenty years of age had almost been more than Jolene could absorb, and she worked hard to start her life over and joined an elite team of U.S. Marshals.

Paul is a top-secret research scientist for the U.S. military. Six years ago, he was convinced that his wife would be safer if he let her become his widow. He’s watched her through covert photographs ever since then and has been delighted to know she’s never replaced him in her heart or her bed. A dangerous man is now after Jolene, one who wants to use her as bait to force Paul into revealing military secrets. Paul finally realizes that Jolene is only safe with him, but is she willing to pick up their marriage after he’s been dead to her for years?

STILL MINE is a fabulous story full of passion and suspense. Jolene turns herself into a strong woman and proudly stands up to her husband when he decides he wants to play house again. Paul is a sexy alpha male who must earn his way back into Jolene’s life...and bed. The love and the lust that rage between Paul and Jolene lives up to expectations when they finally come together.

The plot moves at a very fast pace, and readers will not be disappointed as they watch the action unfold. The military personnel and facilities are very realistic, as are the U.S. Marshals. Senior Deputy Ross Locke and Deputy Richard Tait add a nice mix of humor and emotional conflict as Jolene values their respect. Tait is a promising character who deserves his own love story. The dialogue was very well written.

For a sexy read full of suspense, Mary Wine’s STILL MINE is a Perfect 10. I look forward to reading more of her work.
