Seaview Key, Florida - Present Day

The tiny island of Seaview Key in Southern Florida is home to the best frozen custard stand around, a quiet little restaurant called The Fish Tale, and a bed & breakfast named Seaview Inn. Life's hectic pace is laid-back and comfortable here, the gentle waves on the shore of the Mexican Gulf, relaxing. But Hannah Matthews is anything but relaxed. Her mother's funeral was almost a month ago, and Hannah's back at the family home, Seaview Inn, intending to sell the property, then settle her eighty-five year-old Grandma Jenny into an assisted living complex and fly back to New York -- all within the next two weeks. Easier said than done; Grandma Jenny has informed Hannah that she is not moving anywhere, and she plans to reopen Seaview Inn to guests! Hannah goes along with her grandmother for now, but come hell or high water, she plans unload this old house and get Grandma Jenny settled into that senior home, then hightail it back to civilization before the month is out.

Luke Stevens is an orthopedic surgeon recuperating from a leg wound he received in Iraq. Wanting to give something back to the country that put him through medical school, Luke volunteered to serve on the front lines, but it cost him dearly. His wife turned to his best friend during his absence, then had the nerve to ask for a divorce by email! Luke refuses to go back to Atlanta. His so-called best friend is also his business partner, and Luke has no desire to work with the man who so callously stabbed him in the heart. Luke would gladly walk away if it weren't for his children, Gracie and Nate. After spending eighteen months in an Army hospital, Luke now has nowhere to go. He certainly can't return to work, nor can he bear to even be in the same city as his ex-wife. There's only one thing that seems right - going home to Seaview Key.

Grandma Jenny gladly takes Luke in and works out a deal with him to help renovate the inn for business. But sneaky Jenny has an ulterior motive, and it's just fate that Hannah is also in residence at the Inn. Jenny remembers that her granddaughter first fell in love with Luke when she was a teenager, but he only had eyes for her best friend. Maybe love will work its magic once more around? In the meantime, Hannah is practically hyperventilating in crisis mode. Besides dealing with her errant grandmother, she's avoiding returning to New York for her three-month cancer screening. Breast cancer killed her mother; the same disease might kill Hannah too, and she's afraid. Adding to her troubles, Dave, her boss, is demanding she return to New York immediately, and her daughter Kelsey says she's quitting before starting her final year at college -- she's pregnant! Can Hannah's life unravel any more? Oh yes, it definitely spins out of control when she discovers Luke Stevens has moved in.

SEAVIEW INN is pure Sherryl Woods, a warm story with strong characters and an emotional plot. Hannah is afraid to start living again; how can she plan for the future when she might not have any time left? Luke is stuck between decisions. He never really liked living in Atlanta, but it was what his wife wanted. Now, the only reason he even goes near the place is because his children are too young to be without a father in their lives -- their real father, not the man who walked in and took over Luke's entire life. These secondary characters shine, and the story pulls at your heartstrings. Don't miss out on a visit to SEAVIEW INN this month!
