Cranberry, Connecticut - Present Day

Abby McGuire lives in the modest, yet delightful town of Cranberry. When she was just a child, Abby was rescued from her hippy, irresponsible parents by Aunt Lucy. The idea of leaving Cranberry is not an option, which is why she and Ashton Wheeler split six years ago. Left with a broken heart, and later a short disastrous marriage, Abby believes that relationships and marriage are not for her. Working in Aunt Lucy's deli shop, Abby has dreams of one day owning it. Aunt Lucy's health is declining, and strange things keep happening to the deli, with vandals breaking windows and graffiti with misspelled words appearing on the side of the old building. It seems changes are imminent in Cranberry, and Abby doesn't like it. Now the city council wants the new sign in front of the old deli removed, because it is too big. With the offending letter in hand, Abby goes to see Peter, Ash's brother, now the police chief, who also happens to have some influence with the city council. When Abby walks into the police department, she gets a massive shock.

Ash was Abby's first love; even now she is carrying a torch for him. But he abandoned her, breaking her heart, as he pursued his dream to work in law enforcement in Los Angeles. What is he doing back in town? Those lips, how dare he look so sizzling hot!

When Ash left six years ago, he put Abby in his past -- clean breaks are the best. When a stakeout went wrong, Ash quit the police force and is now on his way to Florida. Ash has stopped by to see his family and is only going to be in town for a week. He has no intention of seeking Abby out. He and his former partner are starting their own security firm. He has his life back on track...until the door opens, and he looks up and sees Abby. Ash's heart feels like it will burst.

PROMISE ME TOMORROW is a delightful, charming love story. Abby is captivating. Can she face what is in front of her? Ash walked away six years ago, what is so different this time? Will they have a chance to work through their problems and start over? What about Aunt Lucy, who is far wiser than Abby thinks; will she share the one bit of wisdom from her own life that will help Abby break free of her fears and follow her heart?

Linda Ingmanson has crafted an old-fashioned love story. The reader will relate to the pain of first love, the feeling of loss and betrayal after a break-up. But what if there is that elusive opportunity of another chance, to get it right? Find yourself a quiet room, snuggle up in your cozy chair and get comfortable. Will Abby and Ash find their second chance? You'll find out when you read the book.
