Contemporary Romance Springfield, Illinois - Present Day
After what feels like hundreds of bad dates, Debra Daniels is
desperate to stop the blind date fix-ups. Browsing in a mall novelty
shop, Debra sees the ultimate gag gift: Fiancé at your
Fingertips. Filled with details on the perfect man, in this case
Lawyer Logan, including love notes, photos, and messages, the
box has everything Debra needs to get the matchmaking mavens off
of her back. But what happens when the real Logan shows up?
Debra's little gag turns into a nightmare when a very real, very
alive Logan Alexander turns up, professing to being totally in
love with Debra. Huh? Is she being punked or just plain losing
her mind? Debra has never met this man before in her life, except
as a name on a box. But he seems to know all about her, and she
him, since she got his profile from the novelty gift and has been
talking about him to family and friends for weeks. So, of course,
trying to convince anyone that Logan is a stranger meets with
patent disbelief. Is this insane world real? And how is it that
Logan's lips seem so familiar when they kiss? Yes, I said kiss.
The man may be crazy, but he's also gorgeous, and Debra's not
one for passing up a great opportunity. The question is: what
happens when you fall in love with crazy?
Sweet and funny, FIANCÉ AT HER FINGERTIPS will leave you
laughing while turning the pages waiting for the punch line. Poor
Debra doesn't know what has happened. She seems to be the only
sane person in a world of people gone mad, though they're all
looking at her as if they want to call the men in white coats.
The real problem, though, is that Debra kinda likes her life with
Logan in it, even though she's constantly waiting for the other
shoe to drop. Logan, the perfect man for Debra from the looks
of him, experiences a similar mental slap at a key point in the
story that puts him on equal footing in the relationship confusion
department with Debra.
Secondary characters include Debra's family and friends, who
are all just as hilariously funny as she is. As enjoyable as the
story is, it does feel as though the suspense goes on a tad too
long. The punch line is at the very end of the tale, the epilogue
in fact, so you have to be patient to see if Debra and Logan get
their happily-ever-after. Even better, though, it looks like a
secondary romance has been spawned that readers can enjoy in a
future book.
