London - Present Day (and other times and places)

With her job as a personal assistant to a scientist, and her steady, comfortable boyfriend Anthony, Lucy Lyon leads a nice, but uneventful life. Lately though, Lucy has been a bit restless, and spending quite a few sleepless nights playing the “who would you go to bed with” game. While Lord Byron (Lucy’s favorite poet) frequently tops the list, Anthony hasn’t even been making the cut despite the fact that she really loves him. So, it shouldn’t really have been a surprise when she finds herself breaking up with him. Unfortunately, that’s not the only change in the works, as Lucy also gets fired from her job. As a going away gift, Lucy receives the time machine that her boss’s former lover sent in hopes of getting her back. Now, without a job or a boyfriend, Lucy’s insomnia is worse than ever. One night, Lucy decides to give the time machine a try and is shocked to find out that it actually works.

With a time machine to take her to anywhere she wants to go, who does Lucy want to visit? Her first destination is naturally to meet Lord Byron in 1813 London, and she is not only successful in arriving where she aimed for, but in addition to Byron, she also gets to meet Keats (another favorite). Where else could she travel, though? Feeling the need for adventure and romance, Lucy journeys to several places, but nothing quite works out the way she hopes, and suddenly she can’t help wondering if she’s had the perfect man all along.

If you could date anyone throughout time, who would it be? Lucy answers that question in THE HISTORY OF LUCY’S LOVE LIFE IN TEN AND A HALF CHAPTERS. While she loves her boyfriend Anthony, Lucy’s been a bit dissatisfied lately and finds herself fantasizing about other men. After two years together, he’s not just her boyfriend, but her best friend also and, despite the break-up, their friendship survives. In between her jaunts, she spends time with Anthony learning new things about him, and her doubts about whether she’s done the right thing begin to grow. Yet, she’s having such fun on her adventures; imagine meeting Byron, Keats, Leonardo da Vinci.
