Action Adventure

Albuquerque, New Mexico and Denver, Colorado - Present Day

For eight years, drug kingpin Alejandro Campos has been a big fish in Central America and northern South America. But the arrival of an Albuquerque schoolteacher named Lily Robbins at his hacienda seeking sanctuary is the beginning of the end for Campos. Three weeks later, Zach Prade has one more mission to accomplish before he can leave his Alejandro Campos identity behind for good: find the encryption code that the CIA believes Lily has in her possession.

Growing up the daughter of a former marine turned sheriff’s deputy has left Lily Robbins with pretty good instincts. Though she can’t prove it -- and the police don’t believe her -- Lily is certain that someone has been in her house, and she’s pretty sure it’s the men frequently driving the luxury sports car through her quiet neighborhood. That, combined with the anonymous envelope containing ten thousand dollars in cash and tickets to Tahiti -- her dream vacation spot -- and Lily knows it’s time to get out of town. The morning she plans to leave, however, all hell breaks loose and Lily finds three intruders in her home. That one of them is Alejandro Campos and he saves her life leaves Lily more confused then ever. She’s been doing her best to ignore the attraction she feels toward the drug runner, but when he whisks her away from her house and the gunfire in a seriously hot car, she can’t help but wonder how he’s connected to the trouble she is in. Or is he her way out of it?

In CUTTING LOOSE, Tara Janzen once again takes readers on a non-stop thrill ride -- and in an amazing car. Special Defense Forces, or SDF, is a covert group working for the Department of Defense, and most of the agents got their start as members of a chop-shop gang running out of Denver’s Steele Street. In several of the earlier books, the cars at Steele Street are almost characters themselves, and this tale is no exception, featuring a 1968 Shelby Mustang Cobra named Charlotte the Harlot. A powerful car, Charlotte definitely does her part in helping Zach and Lily with their escape.

The events that lead up to this story had their start in the previous book, ON THE LOOSE, and it helps to have read that first. Characters from the other stories also play their part, as there are a couple of seemingly unrelated plotlines that eventually tie together. Zach and Lily are immediately attracted to each other, and with the adventure they are on now, they have a chance to explore that attraction. An exciting and engaging story, don’t miss CUTTING LOOSE.
