Paranormal Romance – Vampire

Denver, Colorado – Present Day

Dr. Kismet Knight knew before the radio spot even started that she'd made the wrong decision to appear on the show. The host, Carson Miller, is a smarmy Howard Stern-wannabe, and the next hour of her life is a lesson in patience. But surviving a sleazy radio show turns out to be the least of Kismet’s problems when a particular caller sends chills down her spine. First, his voice sends the signals that indicate that he’s a vampire. Yet, how can that be? It’s an early morning show, and all good little vampires should be asleep in their coffins. Well, it turns out that Lyren Hallow is no ordinary vampire, and what he wants from Kismet is the ultimate mystery.

Kismet Knight was an ordinary psychologist up until the point where her normal life slammed into the paranormal world where many things go bump in the night. The changes wrought by her new knowledge, while scary, are not all bad. They come with an incredibly yummy boyfriend, Devereux, and some interesting experiences that Kismet would never give up. Unfortunately, where there are good vampires, there are also bad, and Kismet seems to attract those like moths to a flame. She’s almost got her feet back under her in this new challenging world she lives in when Lyren makes his appearance, right about the time her good sense decides to take a vacation.

Devereux, upon learning of her discussion with Lyren, immediately wants to hide her in his impenetrable penthouse loft. Well, Kismet is not about to stand for that. She can take care of herself and doesn’t need a man to ‘fix’ things for her. Even as Kismet is having these thoughts and metaphorically watching the Rebel side of her personality drop kick Caution, she knows something’s wrong. Though she’s woman enough to solve her own problems, she knows she’s out of her depth when it comes to vampires, especially ones like Lyren. So why is she so determined to stand on her own two feet? Will Kismet figure it out before things go irretrievably wrong?

DARK HARVEST, the sequel to THE VAMPIRE SHRINK, is a thrilling paranormal romance with enough humor to keep the tale from becoming too dark. Kismet’s internal conversations are downright hilarious, and paired with the absolutely scrumptious Devereux, it makes this a tale not to be missed. There are some in the vampire community who haven’t taken a liking to Kismet or her new role as the Master’s girlfriend. While Kismet is finding that treating vampires is very similar to treating humans, she has missed the signs in her own personal life that all is not well. Adding Lyren to the mix just stirs the pot a bit more, and Kismet no longer knows who is friend versus foe.

Secondary characters are key to the plot, bringing their own agendas and desires for Kismet. Some are looking for a friend, while others just want her dead. In between bouts of great sex with Devereux, Kismet must figure out who is who. But can she handle a vampire the likes of Lyren?

DARK HARVEST is a rollicking good time that is hard to put down once started, though I highly recommend readers enjoy THE VAMPIRE SHRINK first to understand each character’s background, not to mention that it’s just a great read.
