Copper Ridge, Oregon – Present Day

Joshua Grayson's father wants him to marry, so his father places an ad in a newspaper for a suitable wife for Joshua. And Joshua counters by placing his own ad, only he asks for an unsuitable wife. Danielle Kelly responds to Joshua's ad and arrives on his doorstep—dressed dowdily and with an infant in tow. She will be perfect for what Joshua wants, which is to show his father that he better not meddle in his love life or face the consequences. Danielle and her baby settle in, and Joshua soon discovers something he never expected: he's becoming attracted to her.

Danielle is experiencing a bit of bad luck as she struggles to raise her half-brother singlehandedly. Yes, she's not the infant's mother, but she will not give him up after her mother abandons them both. This should be an easy gig: pretend to be in love with Joshua and convince his parents that she's unsuitable, then collect a nice sum of money and return to Portland. But Danielle is finding herself guilty over deceiving Joshua's parents—and falling in love with him.

CLAIM ME, COWBOY is the latest tale in the  Copper Ridge  series by Maisey Yates and is cute, funny, and sexy. While she's only twenty-two, Danielle's life has been tough from the moment she was born to a fourteen-year-old mother and she sees Joshua's money as a way to help herself and her half-brother after she lost her job. She is a bit overwhelmed meeting Joshua as he's not exactly Mr. Charming. But he is good to her as he provides clothing and supplies for her and the baby. He doesn't yet know she's not the infant's mother, which proves  interesting later in the story when he does discover the truth. Let's say both are in for a big shock.

Joshua has always felt his parents interfered too much in his life. So much so that when he turned eighteen he moved to Seattle and worked hard to become a millionaire. But Seattle also holds bad memories due to a tragedy with his now ex-fiancée and he returned to Cooper Ridge to run his business from home on a ranch he bought. A baby scares him, but who can resist a cute baby for long? Certainly not Joshua. As his attraction to Danielle grows, he begins to wonder how long he'll be able to resist making love to her. Both know once her thirty days are up, she'll be gone. Perfect for a fling? Or enough for both to fall in love with the other?

While other characters from the  Copper Ridge  series show up or are mentioned from time to time in CLAIM ME, COWBOY, it can easily be read as a standalone as it's about the romance between Joshua and Danielle. Readers will come to love them both and root for them to find a happily-ever-after. There's some steamy sex scenes but it only adds to this enjoyable tale. Looking for a good read in April?
