Portland, Maine – Present Day

Bestselling author Sutton Marchant has known since he was a child that he was adopted, and when he turned eighteen, he was given a sealed letter from his birth mother that he’s refused to open. Now on the cusp of turning thirty-five, Sutton is visited by two lawyers who inform him that he’s the heir to a massive estate left to him by his birth father. But it comes with a condition: he must attend a Valentine's Day charity black-tie event hosted by the Ryder-White family and he must live for two months at a bed and breakfast in Portland. While he doesn’t need the money personally as he’s wealthy, Sutton does want to get his hands on the inheritance so that he can donate the money to a charity his sister runs. But will living in Portland bring him face-to-face with the past he doesn’t want to embrace?

Single mother Lowrie Lewis doesn’t quite know what to make of her newest guest. Sutton Marchant rented the entire bed and breakfast inn that she runs for two months. He is sexy and attractive, but she doesn’t have the time to indulge in a fantasy fling with him. Sutton is also secretive as to why he’s in Portland, especially when he asks her a few questions about the Ryder-White family. But sparks continue to fly between Lowrie and Sutton, and it doesn’t take long before they’re exchanging hot kisses and sharing a bed. As the truth about Sutton’s parentage comes out, how will it affect Lowrie, and why is the bed and breakfast a vital clue? Will Sutton finally open that letter from his birth mother and come to peace with what happened?

In THE SECRET HEIR RETURNS, it’s a convoluted and intriguing tangle of past and present that brings the Dynasties: The DNA Dilemma series to a close. It comes out early in this tale that Sutton’s birth father is the late Benjamin Ryder-White and that he is related to the Ryder-White clan, who live in Portland. And readers who have read the prior three books know who Sutton’s birth mother is, and as such, it might be helpful to have read the prior three books: SECRETS OF A BAD REPUTATION, WRONG BROTHER, RIGHT KISS, and LOST AND FOUND HEIR. But at the end of this tale, there will be another big surprise in store, one that even I didn’t see coming.

As for Lowrie, she was a well-respected painter years ago but left it after having her ego crushed and her money stolen from her by her mother and her manager. She also ended up pregnant and the baby’s father wants nothing to do with his son. Other family members have left the bed and breakfast inn to her to run, which she has done remarkably well. Sutton entering her life throws her into an emotional tailspin. She shouldn’t fall for him, but her heart has other ideas. He’s moody and not forthcoming with why he’s there. But after he finally confesses who he is, that he is the missing Ryder-White heir, it becomes apparent why Sutton is there.

After all the dust is settled, will Lowrie and Sutton find happiness together, or will he return to England? Find out the answer in the sizzling hot THE SECRET HEIR RETURNS.
