It’s the fifteen-year class reunion of the school screenwriter Bailey Mitchell graduated from and she’s not looking forward to it because she was bullied. However, one friend from school, tech billionaire Wade Butler is there, and he helps Bailey get over her trepidation. At eighteen, Wade was sent to prison for computer hacking but is out and since then, has made millions in the tech industry. Bailey and Wade have fun getting to know each other, and by the end of the night, it’s clear that an attraction is brewing. They agree to see each other again. One thing leads to another, and they are soon hitting the sheets. Neither are looking for a romantic entanglement, but this “thing” between them seems different.

Wade has enjoyed his business success even as he hides the truth about his past. I won’t get into what he’s hiding so as to not spoil this book, but he’s worried about how Bailey will feel about him if she learns the truth. Meanwhile, they’re having fun—lots of sexy fun—getting to know each other and decide to not worry about what the future holds for them. Wade also agrees to attend an upcoming gala she’s organizing for a charity that she’s founded. But after a false pregnancy alarm, things begin to go south between them because it is then that Bailey realizes that she’s fallen in love with Wade. Love is not in the plans for Wade.

They start out as old friends catching up at the class reunion, but soon they are enjoying the sizzling sparks flying between them. Since both are unattached, they decide to enjoy the ride.
