Savannah, Georgia – Present Day

Ivy Harden has been businessman Paxton McLemore's personal assistant for two years, but their relationship turns personal one night at a masked ball when they end up making love. After their night together, Paxton has to leave town on a business emergency, which unexpectedly keeps him away for two months. By the time he returns home, Ivy has resigned. While accompanying his sister to the doctor shortly afterwards, he encounters Ivy—and learns to his surprise that she's pregnant. Paxton immediately realizes the baby is his, but she refuses to have anything to do with him. How can he claim his child?

Ivy's feelings were hurt because Paxton walked out on her after their night of lovemaking without a word. She plans to raise their baby alone and wants to keep Paxton out of her life but that proves impossible when he won't give up wanting to talk to her. Even her family enables him by ditching her and leaving a nauseated Ivy under his care. Thrown together once more, the sparks fly. Paxton wants to keep Ivy in his life, but she has a deep secret that could destroy their relationship if he finds out. For her heart's sake, she must not fall for him again.

Ivy and Paxton had a business relationship that turned sexual for one magical night. He is part of an influential—and rich—family whose history is a big part of Savannah. Ivy is an orphan with two sisters, Jasmine and Willow, who have recently found their future partners in tales told as part of the  Savannah Sisters  series by Dani Wade. What Paxton doesn't realize is that Ivy and her sisters' family is intertwined with his—and not in a good way. Would he hate her if he learns the truth? If his family discovers that he's impregnated Ivy, they will likely be disappointed because they expect him to marry well, someone part of a rich and influential family. Ivy certainly doesn't fit that profile. Yet, Paxton continues to be intrigued by Ivy. Is he falling in love with her?

SON OF SCANDAL is an emotional tale due to Ivy's pregnancy and her insecurities as to whether Paxton really cares for her. Paxton's life has been dictated by his family's expectations and getting involved with his personal assistant isn't a move they'd approve of. Add in the secrets that Ivy is carrying, and readers can sense they are bombs ready to explode.

As the final book in the  Savannah Sisters  series, SON OF SCANDAL wraps up everything neatly and the epilogue will leave readers smiling. While the long separation as this tale opens could've been avoided with a phone call, it won't take away from the enjoyment of reading this. Be sure to put SON OF SCANDAL on your book shopping list.
