Carterville, Present Day

Daphne Morrow is no shrinking violet. Yet when her long time boyfriend, Aaron, dumped her by telephone, it hurt badly. Now it's time to look around and get back in the game. Of course, anyone who trusts the magic eight ball for advice needs to be ready for anything. Let the fun begin.

Too bad there aren't a lot of available men. Adding fuel to her frustration, all of Daphne's girlfriends are getting married this summer, and her clothes closet is bursting with ugly bridesmaid dresses. The men she meets at the weddings are not only touchy feely but gross. As a school teacher and girls' track coach, she doesn't meet a lot of men. Adding to her confusion, Aaron's cousin, Noah, is making her breathless. They have been friends forever, even though they both work at the same school…oh my, could she is falling for him? Dare she consult the magic eight ball?

Trying to help her girlfriends with their upcoming weddings keeps Daphne busy. With normal friends turning into the dreaded bridezillas, she has her work cut out. Cousin Peggy is not only a drama queen, but when she gets drunk at her bachelorette party, she is arrested for trying to put what in a stripper's pants? Where is her tiara? After Daphne gets her out of jail, Peggy's complaints don't stop. She even complains about the cold coffee. The laughs don't stop. Noah recruits her to help in a Power Up girls program, and when they have their first meeting, it ends with the chicken dance. Noah can't dance, but he sure looks good.

All is not well when her scorched prom photos are discovered to be the ignition point for a fire in Willows Grove, aka lovers' lane, and Daphne becomes the prime suspect. She decides she must find out who is the culprit. But will she be prepared when she discovers who did it?

COURTING SPARKS is delightful. The characters have their own charisma, and each scene is wacky and fun. Readers can relate to the day of cars breaking down, the first blush of love, or that second chance. What about those pre wedding jitters, drunken bachelorette parties, and weddings that if anything can go wrong, it does.

Joselyn Vaughn has whipped up a winner in COURTING SPARKS. This is the perfect remedy for the wintertime blues.

Enjoy Folks.
