Los Angeles, California – Present Day

Charlie Quinn thought her life was perfect in San Francisco as she had a job she loved and a boyfriend who was a constant in her life. But on the day that she turned thirty, her life fell apart. She got laid off from her job, and her boyfriend walked out because he got tired of her never wanting to relax and have fun. Then she ends up with a bad case of food poisoning. What a terrible birthday! Her sister, Benny, calls to wish her a happy birthday and encourages Charlie to come home to LA, where Benny and their mother, Jackie, live.

Charlie always felt out of place growing up with her free-spirited mother and sister. As such, she has morphed into a life so under control that she doesn’t know how to have fun. Everyone is telling Charlie to loosen up! Accepting a bet from Benny, Charlie agrees to do things she wouldn’t normally do for thirty days. If she loses, then she has to pay Benny $10,000. She does a few crazy things like color her hair, dress differently, and she meets and dates an old classmate. Alex will be leaving soon, so he is the perfect temporary fling. But what if she falls for him? Doing so doesn’t fit her idea of a perfect life. But things start spiraling out of control.

Charlie goes on an unforgettable journey in CHARLIE QUINN LETS GO. Her upbringing had left its mark on her, as her mother seems to live day-to-day without hardly any care in the world. Jackie and Benny are loved by those they come into contact with, but they aren’t what one would call financially successful. Charlie decided to create the perfect life for herself, away from her family. She thought she had it all…until it fell apart. With no job, no boyfriend, and sick to her stomach, she agrees to come home for a visit. Her now ex-boss had told Charlie when she was fired that she needed to take some time off, that working endlessly wasn’t getting her anywhere. Charlie doesn’t believe it’s true until the planned weeklong vacation turns into one lasting a month.

CHARLIE QUINN LETS GO is an intriguing story told mostly from Charlie’s point of view. We see how she judged her mother and sister’s laid-back lifestyle and decided that she would never be like that… until she is forced to. She likes Alex, but he will be leaving soon, which is okay with her, right? We learn later why Charlie had insulated her life into a vacuum, and it has nothing to do with her mother and sister. Can Charlie figure things out and have a happily-ever-after? You will need to find out by grabbing a copy of this thought-provoking and entertaining tale.
