Miami, Florida – Present Day

Purple-haired and smart mouthed Reese MacKay is vacationing with friends in Cancun to lick her wounds after her disastrous marriage ended with a heart broken, and  she's looking to find a hot man to help her forget. She meets Ben Morris, a charmer who knocks her socks off, and they hook up. Unfortunately, before they can have sex, she has a bad reaction to food and throws up on him. Mortified, Reese runs away, hoping to never see Ben again because she's embarrassed by what happened. Two months later, with a paralegal degree in hand and a job at her stepfather's firm, Reese is stunned when Ben walks into the office—as a newly hired lawyer.

Ben is grateful to have a job and glad that it's with his best friend's father's company. But he didn't expect to run into female firecracker Reese or learn that she's the head honcho's stepdaughter. He's already been warned that it's against company policy to get romantically involved with a coworker, so any ideas he had of picking up where he and Reese left off has to be put on hold. Of course, she's a sexy tease and very tempting, even though her sassy mouth says no. However, Ben needs the job and can't jeopardize his employment.

Meanwhile, Reese's philandering ex and his new wife move to Miami, and old feelings are stirred. She's playing with fire but she has to get back at them and decides to use Ben as a decoy date to make her ex jealous. This brings Ben and Reese into contact and further stirs the fires of desire between them. Ben is charming and is used to getting his way with women, but Reese is determined she won't be another notch on his bedpost. But are things getting serious—even though Ben doesn't think so—when he introduces Reese to his mother?

Reese was young and in love when she married on a whim, but that craziness soon proved ill-fated when her marriage ended. Her stepfather, Jack Warner, “rescued” her from the pain she felt, but only on the condition she get a paralegal degree and work for him. While Jack is no longer married to her mother, he cares for Reese and takes the adult approach to comforting her. Working in an office, she has to give up her purple hair and visible body piercings, but deep down there's still a wild child. Ben isn't as wild as Reese, but he certainly knows how to have a good time, especially while he worked during college at a strip club. Let's just say the strippers have a fondness for him…

FIVE WAYS TO FALL is told in first person from both Reese's and Ben's points of view. There is anguish (Reese's broken marriage and her recovery from it) and anger (Ben toward his father), which makes this an emotional tale. Reese has the support of her best friend, Lina, who it turns out has a thing for Jack's son. Ben feels torn by those around him, but wherever he turns, there is Reese…the one female he can't forget.

An intriguing tale to immerse yourself in, FIVE WAYS TO FALL is filled with young love and plenty of revealing moments, with a smidgen of humor. Grab yourself a copy today and see what I mean.
