Sheridan, Wyoming – Present Day

Attorney Ty Slater hasn't been back to visit his foster parents ranch in a long time, but he's here now for the Thanksgiving holiday. Stopping by a coffee shop in Sheridan on his way out to the ranch, he runs into a familiar face: Whitney Jones, who is currently managing the shop after transferring from the one in Cheyenne, where Ty currently lives. He remembers how there was a spark of interest between them before, but he couldn't act upon it because he was involved with another woman. Now both he and Whitney are free. Can the sparks turn into a short term fling between them?

Whitney always thought Ty was the most handsome man she'd met, but he wasn't free, so she tamped down flirting with him. Now he has no woman in his life, and he's made it clear he's interested in seeing where things can go between them during this short holiday weekend. With family obligations on his part and her managerial responsibilities, they will need to be creative to find some time together. And once the weekend is over, will Ty and Whitney want to extend the pleasure that's sure to abound?

Ty's life may have started out rocky growing up, but he's come a long way and is now a successful attorney. One thing he is grateful about his rough childhood is that it led him to his foster parents and brothers at the Thunder Mountain Ranch. The ranch is in the process of being turned into a riding center, and Ty helped raise money for it by posing for a calendar that has sold like hotcakes. He cringes when he runs into women who “know” him from the calendar, but is pleasantly surprised that Whitney doesn't see him as a brainless beefcake. She invites him over to help her decorate her Christmas tree, and things soon turn heated between them. Yet, they're going to have to find ways to spend time together while they work on keeping up with their obligations. As always with a Vicki Lewis Thompson tale, the problems are creatively worked out to satisfaction for both.

Long distance affairs are hard to maintain when the lovers live five hours apart, but in A COWBOY UNDER THE MISTLETOE, Ty and Whitney get it done, even with a blizzard hindering them at one point. They don't think much beyond the moment of just having a great time in bed together, but when they do, they think there's no chance for a future. But true love will overcome whatever obstacles are placed in front of Ty and Whitney once they realize how important they are to each other. The road's a tough one, but readers will get plenty of fun watching them work it out in A COWBOY UNDER THE MISTLETOE. Grab this wonderful gem for an enjoyable holiday read.
