Pine Gulch, Idaho – Present Day

It is a snowy night in Pine Gulch, and Caidy Bowman is on her way from the ranch to the little town with her injured dog to see the new vet, Ben Caldwell.  She is not impressed with his brusque attitude, but feels better about him when he takes such good care of her puppy, Luke, who had tangled with a bull.  While waiting, she meets Ben's housekeeper and two children who are staying at the local B&B.  When she hears that they are waiting for their new house to be finished, she offers them the use of the foreman's cottage at the ranch for a few weeks.  She feels bad for the rambunctious children staying at the B&B over the Christmas holidays with no place to play.  On the way home, she wonders if she made a mistake having to be around the grumpy vet. Grumpiness soon turns to attraction between Caidy and Ben.

Ben has problems with his ex in-laws.  They want to raise his children and have tried to poison their minds against Ben ever since the death of their daughter.  Although his son has a sunny disposition, his nine year old daughter can be a problem.  He is glad the children are away from their grandparents' negative influence.

Caidy quit college and stayed home after her parents were murdered.  She has been living a quiet life with her brother, his daughter, and all her animals.  She used to sing with joy over the holidays; can she come to terms with the death of her parents and begin to sing again?  Can Ben help ease her loneliness?

As always Ms. Thayne writes a fascinating story that will keep readers interested from beginning to end.  Both Ben and Caidy are good people who are suited to each other.  Ben is a loving father, and they both love animals.  Have you ever noticed that the ladies always smell like vanilla or flowers in these wonderful romances?  Maybe we should all be wearing flowers and vanilla perfume!  The attraction always makes it romantic as the hero and heroine get their problems ironed out and the story comes to a happy-ever-after conclusion.

Readers will visit with old friends from previous Cold Creek books and meet new friends as they spend time with them during the holidays reading A COLD CREEK NOEL.   It is a feel good romance that takes place over the holidays in snowy Idaho, with sleigh rides and sparkling Christmas trees.  It is sure to meet with readers' approval.
