Holiday Bay, Michigan – Present Day The small town of Holiday Bay is abuzz after it is revealed that the next bride for the TV reality show First Comes Marriage is seeking a woman from their town. The show is hosted by former boy band member Paul Rodriguez, a band formed in Holiday Bay when the guys were teenagers. Shopkeeper Kyleigh Sinclair remembers Paul all too well. They dated while they were in high school, but he stood her up on prom night without an apology and went off with the band to seek fame. Single mom Kyleigh has no interest in applying for the bride role, but her daughter Holly goes behind her back and puts her mom’s name in. To everyone’s surprise, it’s Kyleigh who is chosen. When Paul saw Kyleigh’s name as one of the finalists, jealousy arose in him. No one is going to marry her on his show. Except, maybe, him. With a battle brewing between Paul and the television executives, he offers himself up as the groom. Of course, this will mean surprising Kyleigh at the altar. But all they have to do is stay married for ninety days, get to know each other (again), and then they can choose to end the marriage. To say that Kyleigh was both surprised and mad to see Paul standing at the altar when she walked down the aisle is an understatement. Once Kyleigh realizes that it’s Paul she is about to marry in FIRST COMES MARRIAGE, she balks. But he convinces her that it will be a good idea. It will bring publicity to her shop and much-needed income. At the end of ninety days, they can walk away from each other. As part of the agreement, he moves into her small apartment, where she lives with Holly. He’s relegated to the sofa, but he doesn’t mind because it brings him that much closer to Kyleigh. As part of the deal, the production crew are constantly filming them. During the next several weeks, Kyleigh and Paul pretend they are a couple getting to know each other, even as they continue to circle each other. She is mad that he left town back in high school, while he is hoping to make things right with her. Meanwhile, if the show is a hit, he gets funding for his own production company as part of the deal with the TV executives. It's clear in FIRST COMES MARRIAGE that Kyleigh and Paul still care for each other. But winning her back is going to be a tough job. The real reason he walked away from her was that her father threatened his family. Will he finally tell her about it? Will she forgive him? Can they make a marriage work that starts with the wedding first, and the courtship second? You will love Kyleigh and Paul’s story as it is enjoyable and riveting. Don’t miss FIRST COMES MARRIAGE.
