Retired Coast Guard Captain Keith Beaumont has been planning to participate in an annual sailboat contest out of Port Serenity, but his weather forecaster partner is sidelined. A substitute is lined up for him sight unseen, and it turns out to be local TV weather forecaster Monica Mallard. Keith has always liked her while watching her on TV but has never met her.

Monica is going through things in her life right now. She’s recently divorced from her fellow TV station employee and now has overheard her boss talk about replacing her. At age forty-eight, it would be hard to find new employment. But a chance to go out on the water and be part of the sailing contest intrigues her, so she agrees to be the weather forecaster sidekick to Keith. Things heat up for them, so will their business relationship soon turn personal?

LOVE IN THE FORECAST is a really short story about two people at the crossroads of their lives. Keith recently retired and is thinking about doing a longer sailboat trip down the coast. The entrance of Monica into his life has him finally interested in a female after losing his wife to cancer years ago. Monica thought her career was all set until she overheard her boss’s plans to replace her. Will their sailboat contest be a chance for them to get to know each other?

The attraction heats up quickly in LOVE IN THE FORECAST and readers will feel like it has barely started before it’s over. But it is a cute tale.
