Royal, Texas – Present Day

Heiress Reagan Holloway desperately wants to get her hands on the trust fund left to her by her grandmother, but her father controls it until she's thirty—or she marries a suitable man. Ezekiel Holloway has known Reagan for years as she is good friends with his cousin. One day, they are lamenting the fact that she needs her trust fund for a cause she wants to fund, while he needs to restore his family's good name after a scandal has tarnished it. Ezekiel suggests they get engaged to help each other. She would get her trust fund released and he would be engaged to one of Royal's most prominent families. Reagan isn't sure at first, but after her father makes it clear that he wants her to marry a man he's chosen for her, she rebels—and accepts Ezekiel's “proposal.”

Reagan was wild as a teenager, constantly rebelling against her parents, which is why the “father knows best” clause was put into the trust fund's paperwork. But she is older now and wants to do some good for a special cause of hers. If she went to her father about her plans, he'd only scoff at her. Reagan has stood by Ezekiel and his family after their recent bout of bad luck – a mysterious fire at a manufacturing plant they own, illegal drugs discovered, and much more – all of which has led to a scandal that has caused the company stock to plummet. Somebody is out to sully the company's reputation and Ezekiel is working with his brother and cousins to find out who it is—and why.

Ezekiel isn't looking for love, or even marriage, after he lost the woman that he loved years ago. He feels he could've “saved” her from dying and failed. But realizing that Reagan needs help, and his family needs a boost in good news, he proposes a union. How does Reagan's father react after they announce their engagement? Will it lead to a banishment, or a quick trip to the altar? Did Reagan and Ezekiel realize that marriage not only means living together, but sharing a bed? For the first time since they've become friends, there is a spark of desire between them. Will they act upon it?

Meanwhile, the mystery of what is going on with the plant fire, drugs and the other mysteries surrounding Ezekiel's family continues the drama in the Texas Cattleman's Club: Rags to Riches. Also, a local resident recently found herself a lottery winner and wants to cash in on her winnings to become a part of Royal's rich royalty.

A sort of a spin on friends-to-lovers romance, TRUST FUND FIANCE has enough angst and sensuality to keep readers glued to the pages.
