| ONE NIGHT IN TEXAS – Charlene Sands Royal, Texas – Present Day Several months ago, Gracie Diaz won the lottery, which means she can now rub shoulders with the rich and famous in Royal. One night, she attends a masquerade ball at the Texas Cattleman’s Club, where she encounters Sebastian Wingate, and their sizzling meeting ends with them making love in an empty room. Both wore masks, so a few days later, Gracie thought she’d had sex with Sutton Wingate (Sebastian’s twin), which was kind of embarrassing because her best friend Lauren had started to date Sutton. Gracie soon realizes that the man she had the most glorious sex with was Sebastian, but she doesn’t confront him, not even when she learns that she’s pregnant with his child. Sebastian never knew who the mystery lady was that he had sex with that night, though he has (discreetly) tried to find out among his friends. His family recently has gone through some financial difficulties, so they are in the midst of selling their mansion to a buyer—Gracie Diaz. While meeting with her one day to settle on the terms, Sebastian gets a whiff of Gracie’s perfume and realizes that she is that woman. He has heard she’s pregnant, so it’s a question he must ask her: is it his child? Gracie admits it, which leads Sebastian to the only conclusion he can come to: she must marry him. Gracie refuses him. But can she deny that the attraction between them isn’t still there? Gracie’s life has changed dramatically in the past few months, and at times, it seems like it’s steamrolling ahead. While it can be overwhelming, she can’t let Sebastian force her into a marriage she doesn’t need. They barely know one another, despite having that intimate contact the night of the masquerade ball. Sebastian has a bad boy/playboy reputation, and Gracie has no plans to be just another notch on his belt. Besides, she can now afford to give their baby everything he or she would ever need. At first, they keep the news of the impending baby a secret, but just like any secret, it eventually comes out. How will Gracie react at finding herself embroiled in a scandal? Sebastian soon realizes how much Gracie means to him. But can he convince her that his intentions are pure and honorable? What about the fact that his ex-girlfriend has shown back up in town and now needs him? Will it drive a wedge between him and Gracie? Meanwhile, Sebastian works on winning Gracie over again. Let’s just say that having sex within an hour of their meeting is not the best way to start a long-term relationship. ONE NIGHT IN TEXAS is the final tale in the Texas Cattleman’s Club: Rags to Riches series and it ends where it began with Gracie winning the lottery.
