Mercy grew up in foster care, but something about Blessings makes her feel at home in A PIECE OF MY HEART.  With nothing to keep her in Savannah, Mercy moves to Blessings to get to know the people she's met a little bit better.  She's also attracted to Lon, and for the first time in her life, Mercy has people who care about her.  Lon's interest in Mercy is piqued immediately, and the better they get to know one another, the more sure he is that Mercy is the woman for him.  Now he just has to convince her that he's not going anywhere.
