Royal, Texas – Present Day

Dionna “Dee” Reed is in Royal to help plan the wedding of her best friend, Ari, and will be working with the groom’s best friend, Tripp Noble. Dee, who lives and works in Los Angeles, doesn’t see how a high-profile wedding like this can possibly be held in a remote area like Royal. Tripp is determined to prove her wrong. Regardless, Dee will do whatever it takes to make sure the wedding planning succeeds. Tripp owns a ranch in Royal and wants Dee to experience the upside of living here. As they plan the wedding, they grow closer.

Dee comes into town thinking that holding the wedding in Royal will be a mistake. However, there is more to Royal than meets the eye and she soon learns about the amenities the area provides. Tripp is a considerate host and tour guide. He is attractive—and single—so it’s no surprise that Dee is soon falling under his spell. She will only be in town for a few days, but is it enough time to get the lust out of her system? Or will it be a bad thing to do considering that Dee and Tripp will be part of the wedding party?

Feeling like a fish out of water, Dee is ready to not like Royal in A COWBOY KIND OF THING, the first book in the latest Texas Cattleman’s Club series entitled The Wedding. The soon-to-be-married couple is a high-powered couple who have lots of rich and influential friends. Having it in an out-of-way Texas town seems like a bad idea to Dee. It’s up to Tripp to convince her about the benefits of Royal. They spend nights at dinner, which leads to discovering how attractive the other is. Tripp clearly wants Dee in his bed, but she resists—at first.

The first part of A COWBOY KIND OF THING is about Dee expressing her disapproval of the wedding venue. Of course, it is the couple’s choice to have the wedding in Royal. But having it here means that some of the wedding planning partners will have to come here, while Tripp goes about showing Dee that there are just as good event partners here, such as the food, flowers, and other things. Tripp is charming and gets Dee into his bed, but after another man broke her heart, she isn’t quite ready to trust one right now. It doesn’t help that Tripp can charm just about any woman. Can he win her trust?

A fun, enjoyable tale, don’t miss A COWBOY KIND OF THING.
