Winsome Cove, Massachusetts – Present Day After her boyfriend ruined her teaching career with revenge porn, Jenn Bellamy arrives in Winsome Cove, where her family has all now settled. Her first stop in town is looking for a place to use the restroom, and she spots an open house sign. Entering the home, she runs into the real estate agent, who at first denies her request, then relents. After they argue a bit, she informs him that her life is in shambles, while he insists his life is worse than hers. They compare life stories, then she leaves to find her family. Jenn needs a job, and she’s offered a receptionist position at a real estate office, which she accepts. No way it’s the same agency as that guy worked for. Oh, but it is. Cody McNeil is trying to start over after getting treatment for his alcohol problem. He shares his daughter, Ava, with his ex-wife, who isn’t sure he will remain sober. Running into Jenn at the office where he works worries him that she will blab about his past issues, since it isn’t a topic that he freely speaks about. But Jenn insists that she will keep his secret if he keeps hers a secret. An attraction, however, is blooming between them. Neither wants to jeopardize their employment, but they can’t ignore the attraction and finally agree to a secret fling. But secrets have a way of coming out…and exploding in their faces. THEIR WINTER SURPRISE is a fun little story about a couple who experience bad luck in their lives and come to Winsome Cove for a new life. Neither Jenn nor Cody wants people in town to know about their past transgressions. Now they are carrying on a secret affair that could change their future if it’s exposed, or so they think. Jenn’s mother owns a motel in town, while the rest of her family also lives here. Her brother is getting married at Christmas, and Jenn isn’t looking forward to it because after what happened between her and her ex-boyfriend, she is sour on marriage and commitments. A fling with Cody is just perfect, or so she thinks, until things become complicated. Cody is trying to figure out how to deal with his twelve-year-old daughter. Ava is on the fringe of being a teenager, and she has an attitude. It turns out that Jenn is helpful with Ava, which only endears her even more to Cody. But if they are only in a sexual relationship, why can’t there be more than sex? This is something these two will need to figure out.
