Aspiring country singer Dixie Pearl’s van breaks down late one night in Wickham Hollow, Tennessee. She knows her van is on its last legs, and it’s not only her transportation, but it’s also her home. While she’s pondering what to do, a man in a pickup truck pulls up and offers to help her. He even offers her the use of his spare bedroom. Dixie hates accepting offers from strangers, but the night is cold, and she’s hungry. His name is Jack Carter, and it isn’t until they engage in a karaoke contest in a local bar that the reason he’s called “preacher” by the locals is that he really is one. He’s hot and sexy, and Dixie is falling for a preacher. Despite her misgivings, Jack is nice and decent. When she learns that her van won’t be fixed for a few weeks, Jack offers her the continued use of his spare bedroom at the rectory. Sparks continue to fly between them until they finally give in. Dixie then writes a song called "Hot for Preacher” and posts herself singing it on her Instagram account. It’s soon one of the hottest videos on social media—except Jack doesn’t know about it. People in town catch on, and he’s having to fend off speculation that something is going on between the preacher and the country music singer. All Dixie ever wanted was to sign a big contract in Nashville and become famous. She was raised by her father, who also sings, but he isn’t supportive of her life on the road and wants her to return home. But night after night, she’s performed in bars and dives in the hopes of being noticed by a music label. With her now viral song out there, she is garnering attention. Could this be the moment she has been waiting for? In HOT FOR PREACHER, Dixie soon must decide what she wants. Getting that music contract she has wanted for years or finally finding the man she loves. Jack is faithful to his church and the people he serves. Life wasn’t easy for his family growing up, so when he spotted Dixie along the side of the road with her broken-down van, he didn’t hesitate to help her. He had good intentions when he offered the use of his spare bedroom. It’s just that he couldn’t help but fall for the pretty singer. Dixie is different from most women that he’s met. She isn’t afraid to tell you how she feels, and she can’t cook. Jack is falling hard for a woman who will likely be leaving as soon as her van is fixed. There are other characters in HOT FOR PREACHER, but there are too many to list. Wickham Hollow is a small town, and everyone pitches in to help each other. The chemistry between Dixie and Jack is burning hot, and their time in bed is sweetly sensual. Add in the various funny characters that surround them and the bantering back and forth between our couple, then HOT FOR PREACHER becomes a fun, entertaining tale that I highly recommend that you pick up.
