Peak, Virginia – Present Day As THEIR SECOND FIRST DATE opens, Francesca “Frankie” Espiritu and Ty Golden have barely sat down on their first date in the restaurant when things begin to get ugly between them. It’s clear that each has different views, and Frankie has had enough and walks out. But Peak is a small town, so they’re bound to run into each other, especially since Ty is a veterinarian and Frankie has a dog that she takes to the vet practice. Also, their children are good friends. While Frankie and Ty hope to avoid each other, it ends up with them running into each other. She is the head of the PTA at her son’s school, and with the encouragement of his daughter, Ty drops in to help out the PTA, not knowing Frankie is in charge. Because she needs help, she agrees to his assistance. Over the next few weeks, Frankie and Ty are seeing each other a lot and finding out that maybe they like each other more than they think. THEIR SECOND FIRST DATE is kind of amusing in how Frankie and Ty developed from being “enemies” and then becoming “friends.” She is a single mom trying to navigate raising her son with her ex-husband gaining a new girlfriend. She didn’t think she was at that point to see her son possibly having a second mother. Ty is friendly with his ex-wife, but she is in London doing a reality cooking show, which means their daughter misses her mom a lot. Ty has to act like both parents. He is also new in town, but thankfully (or not!), his daughter has found a friend in Frankie’s son. What they don’t realize is that the children are plotting behind their backs to bring their parents together. Will they succeed? Frankie is surrounded by her big, loving family as they run a B & B in Peak. After a failed marriage, one can understand why she is hesitant to try again. Dating for the first time and getting matched with Ty was what she’d hoped would be a good thing. But they got off on the wrong foot, and it went downhill from there. He isn’t a bad person, just their ideas conflicted. But one thing they do agree on is keeping their children happy and safe. Ty likes his job as a vet, but his true love is building things, which ends up with him volunteering to build shelves in the school library. This is where Frankie and Ty start to bond. They realize that they do share the same values. Is love growing between them? THEIR SECOND FIRST DATE is an emotional read, as well as having a few quirky moments. Watch as Frankie and Ty slowly and surely fall in love. It’s part of a series called The Single Hearts Club, and it refers to the members of the PTA—all single parents.
