Amy Casey needs a vacation from her family. Her two teenage sons can’t do anything without her telling them where things are or asking her to do something for them. She has a great opportunity to enter a local artist contest, but she needs to complete three more paintings. Her kids, her parents, and her ex won’t leave her alone! A friend offers her a family vacation home for two weeks, and Amy takes her up on it, taking her blind dachshund with her. But when she arrives, it’s already occupied…by a man. Pro golfer Harrison Neely is recovering from an injury and trying to decide the future of his career. He rented the vacation home for two weeks for peace and quiet, but screeches to a halt when he discovers Amy has settled in. Appears Amy’s friend and her sister didn’t communicate what was going on with the house. After discussing the issue, Amy and Harrison agree to share, since she will be busy in the studio painting. But they can’t avoid each other, and an attraction develops. However, just as they are about to explore their attraction, all hell breaks loose when her mother and her friends show up unannounced. They’re there to keep Amy company! Amy can’t escape her crazy family in the hilariously funny WHILE IT WAS SNOWING. Amy leads a frantic life where everything swirls around her. Not only does she have her sons living with her, but her brother has also temporarily moved in. Her ex is making noises about getting back together, but Amy is not interested. Her parents are bickering about what Amy isn’t sure about. Her phone is constantly pinging with text messages from her family because she is needed to solve their problems. How about some time for herself??? Harrison has been a professional golfer for a number of years, but his best years might be behind him. Should he continue to play, or plan for a second career, and if so, what? His manager wants him to go to Scotland for an exhibition, but Harrison isn’t sure. In this tale, both Harrison and Amy are in their fifties, and neither is looking for love. But there’s a sizzling connection between them, and they can’t deny it. However, the arrival of her mother and friends, plus a PT brought in for Harrison by his manager. It’s a full house. Add that in most of this tale, there is chatter about an impending snowstorm. Snow is a big deal in Texas! Will the snow arrive and strand everyone for several days? What about Amy’s kids, who keep texting her? Will they show up? Will Harrison and Amy get a chance to explore their mutual attraction? A fun and cutesy tale right from the start, readers will surely enjoy reading WHILE IT WAS SNOWING. It’s a laugh-out-loud at times, but at the center of it all is Harrison and Amy falling in love. Don’t miss this. Patti Fischer |
