Loudon, Tennessee - Present Day

For two years, Jazz Lancing has watched the pretty kindergarten teacher, Annie Mayes, and known that she is watching him also. He lusts after her as much as he wants to uncover her secrets, and the wanting is getting worse the longer he knows her. Yet when Cord Maddox, son and heir of the leader of Kin—a mountain militia group in the area—tells Jazz he needs to find out the truth about Annie or else, Jazz will do whatever it takes to keep her safe.

Annie aches for Jazz but isn't sure whether she can trust him. He's notorious for his seductive ways, and Annie knows if she has him, she won't be able to go back to easy friends with him once it ends. But worse than her worries about her heart are her worries about her life. She isn't sure how connected he is to Kin, but since they have been trying to kill her for years, she's not about to take a chance on Jazz. While she knows he would never hurt her, Annie has no idea who exactly is after her, and she won't risk the wrong people finding out her secrets. When someone tries to run her over, though, Annie knows her time for hiding has run out, but can she trust Jazz enough to stay and fight?

Annie's life for the past ten years has been about hiding, surviving, and trying to get past the betrayal of her mother's murder, and her own brush with death. She's watched Jazz for two years, trying to figure out whether his loyalty to Kin will be stronger than his desire for her. In WICKED LIES, Annie is finally ready to face her past and find out who is after her, but she'll need to do that without revealing the truth to the man who means so much to her. Jazz lost the woman he loved years ago and hasn't allowed himself to get emotionally tangled with a woman since, but Annie threatens his control like no other. He knows she's lying to him and everyone about her identity, and when he realizes how much danger she is in, he vows he'll protect her at any cost.

While it takes almost half the book for Jazz to learn the truth, the reader will know much earlier, so the mystery is more about who is after Annie than who Annie is. Jazz and Annie are both strong willed people, and the chemistry between them sizzles, making for some very heated scenes. Filled with as much action and suspense as it is sexy, WICKED LIES is a book you won't want to miss.
