Cape Cardinale, Oregon – Present Day

By the terms of her late father’s will, Alexa Cardinale is forced to live with her three half-siblings in Cape Cardinale for one year. She has a teacher's aide job for the school year while she bides her time. She enjoys the fourth-grade students even if the teacher is a bear to work with. One particular student, Jason, has attracted Alexa’s attention. She knows he recently moved here along with his doctor father, and the father is always late picking his son up. Alexa and the father, Dr. West D’Angelo, usually exchange words over the issue. After West is wrangled into joining the school fundraising committee, Alexa and West are forced into proximity. Let’s just say an attraction is soon brewing.

The building romance between Alexa and West is cute as they argue with each other and at the same time, come together to fight to make things right for Jason and others. For most of THE ROMANCE REMEDY, they are like this. There is no real dating or romance because of this. In fact, when they make love for the first time it is like…oops! The center of their universe is the people around them that demand their attention. Being together is a plus for each other.  Oh, and Jason wants his daddy to marry Alexa. The only problem is that she will be leaving in a few months.

Alexa’s father was a famous photographer and a bit of an eccentric with numerous ex-wives. Alexa didn’t really know her half-siblings, but she supported all of them living together for a year to get their hands on the home and any money they would get for selling the beach house. If one of them leaves, then they all lose out. It allowed her to leave San Francisco and get away from the bad memories of her cheating ex-husband. Meanwhile, Alexa meets West…and is growing more attracted to him, even if he frustrates her.

West used to live in Chicago and is unable to shake the memories of his late wife. Like Alexa, he had a cheating spouse but, in this case, his wife died with her lover. After the death of his father, he moved back to Cape Cardinale to take over the family clinic. It wasn’t easy, especially for Jason. He will do what it takes to help his son. West is intrigued by Alexa, but while he wishes he could pursue her, he doesn’t want Jason to become too attached to a woman who will be leaving soon. Unless, of course, he can convince her to stay. Will that become his plan of action?

A breezy and fun romance set on the Oregon coast, don’t miss THE ROMANCE REMEDY.
