California & Arizona – Present Day The Harper and the Wells families are not fond of each other. The Harper family is known to use their psychic skills for anyone and anything, while the Wells family also has psychic talent and straddles both sides of right and wrong. But now two members of their family have apparently become lovers, and then mysteriously disappeared. The belief is that they are either in trouble or dead. Sophy Harper and Luke Wells are determined to find her aunt, Bea Harper, and his uncle, Deke Wells. It appears that the secret powers that the families have are being sought to be used for potentially nefarious reasons. An investigation leads them to a remote art colony in Arizona. It is owned by a retired inventor/billionaire. Sophy and Luke arrive undercover and discover a powerful vortex that affects how people react and feel. Will it be used for controlling people? Will they find Bea and Deke? THE SHOP ON HIDDEN LANE is a mix of romantic suspense and paranormal. Sophy and Luke were raised to distrust each other’s families. Once they start working together, they argue over what is going on and feel they can’t trust each other, yet there is a sizzle of attraction brewing between them. Early on, they find someone murdered, and that ups the danger. Clearly, whatever is going on means the bad guys are not afraid to kill. Luke has a loyal dog that accompanies him wherever he goes and protects not only Luke but also Sophy. They have to be careful whom they trust, so they pose as a newlywed couple under assumed names. Sophy (and her aunt) uses their powers to control crystals that are all-powerful. They soon realize that crystals may be the motive behind what is going on. You will find yourself engrossed in what happens in THE SHOP ON HIDDEN LANE. Most of the scenes are with Luke and Sophy together, and we see both of their points of view. At first, they couldn’t believe that Bea and Deke were lovers, but the evidence is there. Why were they possibly kidnapped? By the end of this tale, will Sophy and Luke realize they can set aside their family rivalry, too, and become lovers? What is hiding in the art colony, and will it need to be destroyed? There is plenty of action and a few saving each other along the way. Luke and Sophy end up becoming partners in solving this mystery. Will they become partners in love?
