| England and Kingdom of Sofnantis – Present Day Six years ago, Emerald Baker and Prince Kostandin of Sofnantis had a sizzling one-night stand while he visited London. Shortly afterward, he became king upon the death of his older brother and soon married his brother’s fiancée. Now it has been announced that the royal couple have divorced, and the king will be visiting London again. Emerald hopes this gives her the opportunity to meet him to inform him that he is the father of her five-year-old son. She manages to get hired as part of the wait staff for the party Kostandin is attending. Before she can tell him about their son, he whisks her off to spend another sizzling night together. In the morning, Emerald informs Kostandin about their son, Alek. He doesn’t believe her at first but demands to see him. They fly to her home in Northumberland, where one look at Alek convinces Kostandin about the paternity. He demands that Emerald marry him. His brother was killed and feeling a responsibility to carry on the proposed merger of two countries, he married his brother’s fiancée. By that time, Emerald was expecting and unsure how to tell him about her pregnancy. The last thing she wanted was to cause a scandal. But Alek is asking questions about his father, so she believes it is time the king knew about his son. Having him come to London on an official visit is the perfect opportunity. Emerald agrees to spend time in Sofnantis with Kostandin as a trial to see if she wants to not only move there but marry him. Unfortunately, he is aloof and bogged down by royal duties, which means he ignores her a lot. Yet, despite all this, there is still a passionate desire resonating between them. He has closed his heart to love. For him, it’s duty above everything. Can Emerald thaw out the man she has fallen in love with and become his queen?
